Alice Matsuda

BioEngineering Student | Santa Clara University

I am an aspiring biomedical engineer completing my junior year at Santa Clara University. I am motivated to contribute to the advances in medicine and promote healthcare accessibility because I believe that healthcare is a human right. I grew up in a small city near Rio de Janeiro and unfortunately watched closely the struggle of friends and my own family members to be able to receive decent care at public hospitals and clinics. Some of my areas of interest are stem cells and tissue engineering. 
During my free time, I like to clean and organize my spaces, meet with old friends and make new friends, taste different types of food, go outdoors and contemplate the beauty of nature.
